How The Apple TV Sci-Fi Series' Death Can Make Monarch Better

There are a few options related to how Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 could handle Verdugo's death. On the one hand, Tim, despite his move to Apex Cybernetics over a conflict with his former boss, could be left with Verdugo's role, changing Monarch with the vision of someone who used to work there but never lost the spark in his eye.

That said, it seems like the sci-fi series might be setting up someone else to take over. In the season 2 premiere, Tim tells Keiko that she can return Monarch to what it was always supposed to be. At first, this seemed like he was trying to help her find a place in a world that had completely changed around her.

After Verdugo's death in the season premiere, Tim's words seem more like foreshadowing. That said, with Kurt Russell's Lee Shaw back in action, Monarch could be looking at another leader. After all, Shaw showed in season 1 that he is the best tactician around. With Keiko and Bill Randa, he was also a major driving force at Monarch. It remains to be seen how Verdugo's death impacts Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2.
